The Ichthyophthirius parasite is found under the mucous membrane of the fish. After a few days it breaks through the mucous membrane and falls to the bottom of the aquarium, onto the plants and stones where it then seperates into 1,000 to 2,000 cells (swarm). This swarm then sheds its skin and looks for a new base (in this case the fish). They pierce the skin and form small white balls. faunamor prevents the swarming of the spawn and stops the development cycle of the Ichthyophthirius pathogene. Not only does it fight the illness, but it also protects against the frequently occurring accompanying bacterial infections. The treatment should last about 8 days until the swarm is dead.
