Seachem Ammonia Alert

Is an innovative color device for continuously detecting and monitoring toxic free ammonia.

A sensor changes reversibly from yellow to green to blue, relative to the ammonia concentration.

No test kits, chemicals, or procedures are needed.

The device detects less than 0.05 mg/L (ppm) free ammonia and alerts you to the #1 killer before any sign of stress.

It lasts over a year. Marine or freshwater use.

Seachem pH Alert

Is a unique color device designed to be placed in the aquarium or filter and monitor pH continuously.

A sensor changes color reversibly to alert you shifts to in pH levels between 5.8 and 8.2.

No tests, no strips, just constant readings.

Freshwater Only

Seachem Ammonia Alert

Seachem Ammonia Alert

Ammonia Alert™ is an innovative color device for continuously detecting and monitoring toxic free ammonia.

In the absence of free ammonia the unit will assume a yellow or faint yellow-green color. It is normal for the dry sensor to have a greenish hue. It may take up to a few days for a dry sensor to equilibrate with the water. No sampling of water, chemicals, or test procedures are required. The presence of the free ammonia is detectable continuously with a response time of about 15 minutes. Response to decreasing ammonia is slower, requiring about 4 hours to go from TOXIC to SAFE on removal of ammonia.

As little as 0.02 mg/L of free ammonia will produce a greenish hue on the detector surface. This corresponds to a total ammonia (both ionized and free ammonia) of 0.25 mg/L in marine water at pH 8.3. In freshwater at pH 7.0, this corresponds to 3.6 mg/L total ammonia. Free ammonia is much more toxic than ionized ammonia. As free ammonia, the ALERT color corresponds to about 0.05 mg/L, ALARM to about 0.2 mg/L, and TOXIC to about 0.5 mg/L. The ALERT concentration is tolerated for several days, ALARM for a few days, and TOXIC is rapidly harmful.

This product is not recommended for use at acid pH

Seachem Acid Buffer

Seachem Acid Buffer

Lowers pH
Converts Alkalinity (KH) into CO2

Acid Buffer™ is a non-phosphate buffer to lower pH and buffer with Alkaline Buffer™. Both buffers are designed for the planted aquarium or for very hard water where phosphate buffers may pose an algae or cloudiness problem.

Acid Buffer™ lowers pH and buffers between 5.0 and 8.0 when used with Alkaline Buffer™.

As Acid Buffer™ lowers pH it converts carbonate alkalinity (KH) into available CO2.

It may also be used to safely lower pH in marine water.

DIRECTIONS: To lower pH, use 2 g (1⁄4 teaspoon) to every 80 L (20 gallons*) daily until intended pH is reached (this dose lowers alkalinity by about 0.2 meq/L (0.6 dKH)).

Best if added directly to aquarium.

If water is soft or not well buffered, use with Alkaline Buffer™

Seachem Alkaline Buffer

Seachem Alkaline Buffer

Seachem Alkaline Buffer : Raises pH : Increases Alkalinity (KH)

Alkaline Buffer™ is a non-phosphate buffer to raise pH and alkalinity (KH) and buffer with Acid Buffer™.

These buffers are designed for the planted aquarium or for very hard water where phosphate buffers may pose an algae or cloudiness problem.

Alkaline Buffer™ raises pH and buffers between 7.2 and 8.5. It is gentle, safe, and enhances the freshwater environment.

Directions :

Use 7 g (1 level teaspoon) for every 40 L (10 gallons) daily until desired pH is reached (this dose raises alkalinity by about 2 meq/L (5.6 dKH)).

If water is soft or not well buffered, use with Acid Buffer™ (see below).

HINTS: Alkaline Buffer™ will not lower pH. It may be added directly to the aquarium at any time. It preferentially buffers at pH 7.8, but can manage any pH between 7.2 and 8.5 when used with Acid Buffer™. If using with RO or DI water for a water change, then use with Acid Buffer™ at a fixed ratio (refer to chart provided on product) to set the desired pH. Once pH is set add water to aquarium as soon as possible to avoid pH fluctuations (for best results, base ratio on weight of product added).

Seachem Alkaline Regulator

Seachem Alkaline Regulator

pH 7.5 Seachem Alkaline Regulator

Adjusts pH to 7.1 - 7.6

Alkaline Regulator™ adjusts pH to the alkaline range (7.1 – 7.6) and supports the establishment of the optimal environment for all alkaline acclimated species (e.g. bosemani, various other rainbows etc.).

For further freshwater environment enhancement, use Fresh Trace™ to restore the proper level of trace elements required by thriving, healthy freshwater community fish.

Powder : 250gm treats 400-800 US gallons

Seachem Marine Buffer

Seachem Marine Buffer

Marine pH 8.3 Buffer

Marine Buffer™ will safely raise marine pH to 8.3. It will not raise pH above 8.3 even if inadvertently overdosed.
Marine Buffer™ is a blended product and is not just sodium bicarbonate or sodium carbonate, commonly sold as a substitute. Such products can raise pH to dangerous levels if not used properly.

Marine Buffer™ contains sodium, magnesium, calcium, strontium, and potassium salts of carbonate, bicarbonate, chloride, sulfate, and borate.

Use Seachem’s MultiTest: Marine pH & Alkalinity™ to check pH and total alkalinity.

Use Marine Trace™ to restore the proper level of trace elements required by thriving, healthy saltwater fish.

500gm treats up to 2000 US gallons

Seachem MultiTest Ammonia

Seachem MultiTest Ammonia

Seachem MultiTest Ammonia

This kit may be used with freshwater or marine water

This kit measures total (NH3 and NH4+) and free ammonia (NH3 only) down to less than 0.05 mg/L and is virtually interference free in marine and fresh water.

Free ammonia is the toxic form of ammonia (vs. ionized Ammonia NH4+ which is non-toxic) and thus it is much more important to keep an eye on the level of free ammonia in your system.

This kit is based on the same gas exchange technology that is used in the Ammonia Alert™ and thus is the only kit on the market that can read levels of free ammonia while using ammonia removal products such as Prime®, Safe™, AmGuard™ and any similar competing products.

The other kits (salicylate or Nessler based) determine the total ammonia by raising the pH of the test solution to 12 or greater. At this high pH all ammonia removal products will breakdown and rerelease the ammonia, thus giving you a false ammonia reading.
